It's All Come Together!

This summer, Elevate+ will support one of the most talented internship cohorts in our organization’s history.
More than 30 students from low-income, underserved, and historically underrepresented backgrounds will take part in paid summer internships with 26 host organizations across multiple states and industries. Students in this year’s cohort are not only from the schools we typically see each year, like the University of Connecticut, Cleveland State University, and Montclair State, but also Denison, Gettysburg, NYU, and the Rochester Institute of Technology, to name a few. It was a highly selective application process and, as ever, our ability to fund more students was only limited by Elevate+’s financial resources.
Interns will step into roles spanning
marketing and communications,
education,
nonprofit operations,
animation and digital storytelling,
healthcare and food access,
environmental work,
arts administration,
historical research,
technology, and
community outreach. While the industries vary widely, the common thread is opportunity: the chance for students to gain meaningful professional experience, build confidence, grow their networks, and explore possible career paths in environments where they are supported and valued.
At the same time, host organizations benefit from additional talent, energy, and capacity during a time when many nonprofits and mission-driven organizations continue to operate under significant resource constraints. That “double impact” remains central to the Elevate+ model. Students gain formative paid work experience while community organizations receive meaningful support that helps advance their missions.
Before beginning their internships, students have already participated in Elevate+ professional development programming focused on application preparation, navigating the interview process, and job readiness. Throughout the summer, interns will also take part in additional enrichment opportunities designed to strengthen workplace skills, professional confidence, and long-term career readiness.
As always, what stands out most is the ambition and thoughtfulness of the students themselves. Many are pursuing careers rooted in service, creativity, healthcare, advocacy, education, and community impact. Others are exploring emerging creative and technical fields while looking for ways to use their talents to make a difference.
