HOST PARTNERS

Information for Host Partners

Elevate+ is all about facilitating access to meaningful, paid summer internship experiences for underserved students. We cannot do it without other organizations that provide the practical work experiences and supportive mentors to provide advice and coaching to the students they employ.

Hosting interns is rewarding. Our host partners tell us they get as much out of the program as the students they employ. Our interns make an impact on the organizations they work for and an even longer lasting impact on the people they work with over the summer.

Hosting interns is half of the win-win equation

Elevate+ partners with fantastic organizations that not only understand the social value of providing formative experiences for underserved students, but that they themselves also benefit.

For non-profits, with the funding provided by Elevate+, they can hire untapped talent to support the advancement of their key projects, strategies and overall missions. Often this enables important progress where their own stretched budgets and allocated resources fall short.

Organizations that hosted Elevate to Even Plus funded interns in our 2021 inaugural summer

In 2022, we began placing interns in for-profit organizations who pay directly the interns they host, and we're currently looking for additional companies with which to partner to help them develop their diversity internship programs.

To participate in the internship program, hosting organizations are asked to prepare a brief job description and then interview applicants sourced through the Elevate+ network of schools and enrichment programs. Once the selected intern is on board, the hosting organization provides a mentor to support the student through the summer with training and guidance, and they assign meaningful work that the intern can be proud of completing.

Previous interns have performed a variety roles and tasks involving research, report writing, analysis, donor relations & development, communications, social media, program development & operation, marketing and public relations.
